Family Support Networking

An all-volunteer effort to create a more caring, just and civil society.

What we do
View 7-minute segment produced by Lifetime TV

  • Creating a network of support for families.
  • Connecting families to one another.
  • Empowering families to help themselves.
  • Making resources more easily accessible and affordable.
  • Making neighborhoods safer places to live and play.
  • Saving families time and money through resource pooling with other families.
  • Providing opportunities for kids and families to learn and have fun together.

The Family Support Network is a thriving community that cares. All the resources, activities, and trainings offered here will enhance your life. Our mission is to weave a grassroots web of support for young and old alike and create a more caring, just, and civil society. Everyone has something to offer! Even if you need assistance right now doesn't mean you can't help someone else down the road.

The FSN website was designed to provide the highest level of protection of your private information. It was made possible by an extraordinary team of developers who contributed their time and expertise to make it easy for you to connect to information, opportunities, and each other.

The features of the website enable you to:

  • find Good Neighbors in your community or anywhere in the world
  • connect with people who share your interests or can teach you new skills
  • locate equipment, supplies, and services on the FSN Resource Treasury
  • start Community Weaving in your neighborhood, school, church, organization, or business
  • find solutions to challenges influencing your life or community
  • speak directly to a Family Advocate or Community Weaver
  • participate in humanitarian efforts and service-learning opportunities
  • post workshops, services, and resources to enrich people's lives
  • link up with neighbors to create your own resource network on the Good Neighbors Net
  • organize neighborhood activities and community events
  • promote educational, social, and recreational opportunities
  • organize change initiatives to address issues such as public health, safety, education, emergency preparedness, and community improvements

We compile reports to leverage changes in public policies and show policy makers and funders the many ways you are taking responsibility to improve conditions in your community and serving as leaders, advocates, role models, and change agents. Together we can weave a grassroots web of support around the world and reduce the demand for formal services, so agencies can provide a higher quality of service to those needing them the most.

The Family Support Network is a non profit 501(c)3 organization. We are an all-volunteer organization supported by private contributions, training and consulting fees. It has been our policy, since our inception in 1993, not to tap into public dollars. We hope you will become a Good Neighbor and invite your family, friends, and associates to help grow this grassroots community-building effort.
